Remember Tiger Beat magazine from the 1970s? Teenage idols graced the cover - Shaun Cassidy, Parker Stevenson, Tony DeFranco, and even Leif Garrett. Elvis was an idol. Same for Tiger Woods in the golf world.
And those human idols can disappoint us. They fall off the pedestals we put them on.
The Maya culture worshipped their idols and offered human sacrifices (by ripping out beating hearts).
